From June 15, 2009, to June 19, 2009, the V International scientific and practical conference on standardization “Course – the global system of timbering standardization” and the VIII plenary session of the International Technical Committee on Standardization ISO/TK 218 “Timber” were held in National Library of Belarus.
Representatives of International Organization for Standardization (the ISO) central secretariat, regional standardizing organizations, the ISO technical committees and corporations, national standardization bodies from the USA, Canada, China, Japan, Russia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Ukraine, Belarus and other countries participated in the event.
At the conference, plenary session and working groups’ sittings the following issues were discussed: the project of the Concept of the global system of timbering standardization; projects of the ISO international standards; programs and business-plans of the Committee for рабочей 2009–2010; ISO/TK 218 “Timber” activities and structure, the Committee working groups etc.
