On June 19m 2009, delegations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania visited National Library of Belarus.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Lithuania and Finland V. Drazhin; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania E. Ignatavichus led the Lithuanian delegation.
The visit was part of inter-ministerial consultations that were held on June 18-19, 2009 in Minsk.
Members of the delegations got acquainted with the Library’s activities, information aresources, equipment, reading rooms, user service, architecture and interior design of the Library’s building. The guests ascended the Library’s Observation platform and visited the Museum of a Book.
On behalf or the Ministry of Foreign Affaires of Lithuania E. Ignatavichus wrote an entry to the Guests’ of Honor Book. The head of the Lithuanian delegation thanked the receiving party for an awesome tour and wished to workers of the Library professional successes and “new projects, as impressive as the Library is”.
The Deputy Minister of Lithuania presented to the Library a new publication on the history of Lithuania – a book by Lithuanian historian, Doctor of Science, Professor E. Gudavichus.
