The premiere screening of the film Spadchyna (Legacy) took place on December 4, in the National Library of Belarus.

The Belarusfilm film studio together with the National Library of Belarus presented a 52-minute documentary film reflecting all the main achievements of the country in the field of culture over the years of independence.

The film tells about the reconstruction of the historical appearance of the country, the revival of national shrines, and the construction of iconic cultural objects. One of such unique objects preserving the country’s spiritual wealth is the National Library of Belarus. The story of its creation and the formation of unique book collections are also presented in the picture.

The event began with the performance of the Belarusian actor, Alexander Abramovich, and the talented young artist, Sophia Taran. The actors read the poem “Spadchyna” by Belarusian classical poet Yanka Kupala.

The premiere was attended by representatives of culture, students, journalists, and general public.

Film crew: screenwriter, laureate of the National Literary Prize of the Republic of Belarus, winner of the Francysk Skaryna medal Natalya Golubeva, producer Lyudmila Klintsova, director of photography Alexander Vlasov, sound engineer Dmitry Petrusenko, sound recordist Mazim Volodin, camera operator Alexander Vasyuk, film editor Vladimir Moroz, director Tatyana Afanasyeva.

The leaders of iconic cultural institutions, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, architect Viktor Kramarenko, choreographer Valentin Elizariev, director Nikolai Pinigin, BSSR folk artist Leonid Schemelev, opera diva Nina Sharubina, folk artists Tatyana Markhel and Inessa Dushkevich, art historian Olga Bazhenova, as well as children and youth who have already declared themselves as talented creators are in the film.

The event ended with a vivid performance of the "Gramnitsy" ensemble led by Artistic Director, Professor Vladimir Zenevich (the Belarusian State University of Culture and Arts).
