Finalists in the competition “Student of the Year” have visited the National Library.
In the “Knowledge Diamond,” the guests met the director of the National Library of Belarus and chairman of the Public Advisory Council on Education at the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Roman Motulsky, and the Deputy Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus, Igor Buzovsky.
The discussion was focused on the development of new information resources for promoting books and reading among young adults. The guests viewed a presentation on the National Library’s resources and services designed to provide academic support to university students.
At the end of the meeting, the guests received as a gift a volume of the facsimile edition of “The Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna.” The publication is a joint project of the National Library of Belarus and BelVEB Bank.
The competition finalists left on the bookcrossing shelf their favorite books, which they specially brought to the library. These publications will find new owners soon.
A pleasant surprise for the students was an orientation tour, during which they visited the Book Museum of the National Library, got acquainted with the permanent exhibits, and also visited the Panorama gallery, from where they could enjoy the bird’s-eye view of Minsk.
