The session of the Belarusian Council of Libraries for Information Interaction was held on 10 November within the framework of the 7th International Bibliological Conference.


The following questions were discussed on the session:

  1. Results of carrying out of eIFL General Assembly on the territory of the Republic of Belarus.
  2. Approaches to corporative acquisition of databases for 2012.
  3. The forming of a system of raising the level of librarians’ skill in the field of intellectual property.
  4. About corporate interaction of libraries in Belarus to form electronic information resources:
    • A joint electronic catalogue of libraries in Belarus;
    • A consolidated database of articles;
    • Full-text electronic information resources;
    • Factographic and text-full electronic information resources.
  5. About the change of Working groups membership of Executive Committee of the Belarusian Council of Libraries for Information Interaction.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
