The award ceremony in different nominations after the professional skill competition “Crystal of the Soul”, dedicated to the Libraries Day, took place on September 14.


The most worthy, dedicated staff whose professional qualities and skills increase the prestige of the librarianship and the National Library in particular were awarded in the categories – "Best in Profession", "For contribution to the development of librarianship", "For leadership and successful management", "For loyalty and dedication to the profession".

The chief bibliographer of the Indexing of Documents on Natural and Applied Sciences Sector of the Document Indexing Department Lilija Alimava, the chief editor of the Redaction Section of the Publishing Department Žanna Zienevič, the engineer of the 1st category of the Heating and Sanitary Engineering Maintenance Department Barys Palianski, the leading methodologist of the Library Excursions Section of the Library Excursions Department Veranika Silič, the head of the Audio Equipment and Lighting Equipment Maintenance Section of the Cultural Events Department Dzianis Bandaronak, the head of Information and Bibliographical Service Section of the Information Service Department Nastassia Tolkačava, the leading specialist of the Logistical Support Department Natallia Voranava, the chief bibliographer of the Electronic Library Maintenance Section of the Electronic Library Development Department Aksana Bujčyk, the chief librarian of the Scientific-Research Bibliography Department Volha Kakšynskaja were awarded in the nomination "Best in Profession".

The bibliographer of the Information and Analytic Activity Department Klaǔdzija Prenc won in the nomination "For contribution to the development of librarianship".

The head of the sector of the Scientific-Research Bibliography Department Tacciana Sapiega, the head of the Building and Equipment Operation Department Aliaxandar Siančuk, the leading specialist of the Logistical Support Department Volha Majeǔskaja won in the nomination "For leadership and successful management".

The bibliographer of the 1st category Information and Bibliographical Service Section of the Information Service Department Neanila Malćava was awarded in the category "For loyalty and dedication to the profession".

Hope and future of the librarianship – young specialists: Nastassia Kupryjanava, Alesia Harhun, Alena Mazutka, Tacciana Huneva, Alena Bavtruk, Julia Ivanova, Nadzeja Silivončyk, Nadzeja Dalmatovič, Anna Gudzula, Aliaksandra Višneǔskaja were awarded diplomas.

The hosts charged the hall with positive energy, the ceremony was held in a warm and cozy atmosphere. The ceremony ended with a festive concert.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
