On September 14th, the House of Press held a press conference to commemorate World Library Day.
The event was attended by Maslovskaya Anastasia, the chair of a section of the Library science department of the National library of Belarus; Shved Tatiana, director of the State enterprise “Centralized system of Minsk’ children’s libraries”; Veremchuk Larisa, deputy director in operation of the State enterprise “Maxim Gorky Brest regional library”; Barabanshchikova Tatiana, deputy director of the State enterprise Vladimir Lenin Gomel regional library”; Komendatova Olga, deputy director in operation of the State enterprise “Vladimir Lenin Vitebsk regional library”; Kostuk Yulia, secretary in science of the State enterprise “Vladimir Lenin Mogilev regional library”.
Speakers discussed the activities of their businesses, the most interesting projects, the future of libraries and the library profession, and their experiences with the question: What role do libraries play today in the community’s cultural life? The participants responded to the journalists' inquiries throughout the press conference.
