On November 21, 2008, in National Library of Belarus the IV International Bibliological Conference ”New Technologies for Documentary Heritage Preservation” finished its work.




On the second day of the Conference sessions of sections “Developing and preservation of documentary heritage” and “Documentary monuments in real and virtual space” carried on in the International press-center and educational technologies room.

Participants of the Conference visited the national historical and cultural museum “Niesvizh” where took place the session of a section “Niesvizh - the cultural center of Europe”.

During the conference were organized book and art exhibitions and Library tours.

At the end of the event took place the presentation of the first 5 volumes of the Complete Works by Yakub Kolas, the eminent Belarusian writer and poet in 20 volumes published by “Belaruskaya Navuka” publishing house. The presentation was organized by Yakub Kolas Institute of language and literature and Yanka Kupala National Academy of Science of Belarus.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
