On March 25th, the National Library hosted an international conference “The common history of peoples union. The role of leaders of Kazakhstan and Belarus in the formation and development of the independent states”.
The forum was arranged by the Center of the Kazakh language, history and culture named after Abai (the Belarusian National Technical University), the Center of language and culture “Belarus” (the Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilev, Kazakhstan), the National Library of Belarus, the Scientific Library of the Belarusian National Technical University in cooperation with the Embassy of Kazakhstan to Belarus.
Director of the National Library of Belarus Roman Motulsky welcomed participants of the international conference. He noted the symbolic significance of the forum held at the main library of the country where many crucial events in Kazakhstan and Belarus relations had taken place.
The Belarusian National Technical University pro-rector for scientific and innovative work Feodor Romanjuk expressed a hope that ideas stated by participants of the conference would be demanded by the peoples of Kazakhstan and Belarus, and the forum would promote the strengthening of the friendship between two peoples.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Belarus Ergali Bulegenov and leading expert of the international cooperation administration made welcome speeches as well.
Within the bounds of the conference there took place plenary and section sessions dedicated to various aspects of the interaction between Belarus and Kazakhstan.
