On 17 January, at 5 p.m., at the gallery “Panorama” of the National Library of Belarus is held the opening ceremony of the exhibition of photo artist Gennady Podborodnikov (Moscow) "The colors of Venice”.


Gennady Podborodnikov is a TV-program director at one of private Moscow broadcasting companies; however he dedicates the significant – even if not the basic – part of his life to photography and cognitive literature.

During several last years the photo artist has been working on the illustrated book about The Most Serene Republic of Venice.

The exhibition presents 42 photos made by the author between 2003 and 2011.

The exhibition runs till 4 March.

From 18 January entrance is paid; the entrance fee to the exhibition is equal to that of the Observation platform.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
