On November 12–13th, 2009, the main economic event of the year, the Belarusian investment economic forum, was held in Minsk.
The event took place in National Library of Belarus simultaneously with the sixth plenary session of the Advisory Council on Foreign Investments of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus under presidency of Prime Minister of the country Sergey Sidorsky.
The forum was held with the support of the government of the Republic of Belarus with a view of presentation of investment potential of the Republic, reinforcement of the positive image of Belarus as a reliable business partner, and development of direct contacts of Belarusian organizations with foreign investors. The number of participants of the forum came to about 800 persons, half of which were representatives of the foreign companies.
Participants of the forum had the opportunity of the open discussion with representatives of the government on themes of the further development of Belarus and prospects of its inclusion in the thirty states with the best business-climate. Also they could familiarize themselves with presentations of investment projects of Belarusian organizations.
Summing up the forum, the participants signed a number of project memorandums and agreements.
