On November 17th, 2009, in National Library of Belarus took place a seminar “Secrets of the successful library management and lobbying of libraries' interests”.
The event had been arranged by Goethe Institute in Minsk in cooperation with National Library of Belarus.
The seminar was moderated by Doctor Hannelore Vogt, the director of Cologne City Library, member of the commission on management of the German Library Union (DBV), head of the consulting council “Information in libraries” of Goethe Institute in Minsk, one of editors of the journal “Bibliothek. Forschung und Praxis” (“Library. Research and practice”). During the event participants determined the basic components of the successful work of libraries and learned what actions should be undertaken for improvement of their image.
Heads and experts of public and scientific libraries of Belarus, representatives of libraries of the Ukraine, employees of National Library of Belarus participated in the seminar.
Hannelore Vogt made an excursion of the Library during which she got acquainted with its activities and architecture of the Library’s building.
