On 19 November, a round table "Socio-cultural design and features of the formation of regional politics in the field of culture" was held in the Educational Hall.
The event was organized by the Institute of Culture of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus.
It was attended by the heads and deputy heads of departments of ideological work, culture, and youth affairs of the district executive committees from all the regions of Belarus.
During the meeting they discussed the main trends in the development of public libraries in the country, reviewed the implementation of government programs and project activities of cultural institutions and discussed the most relevant issues of the library field. The participants raised topical issues on the improvement of the regulatory framework, including the implementation of public procurement, the development of library and information services in an electronic environment, the formation of workforce capacity in the library field and many others.
The participants of the round table also saw an exhibition of printed output and a list of social and cultural services of the National Library of Belarus.
