On January 25, the Library staff, its friends and partners gathered in the conference hall to sum up the activities of the past year and set tasks for the current year.

Roman Motulsky, director of the National Library of Belarus warmly welcomed the participants of the meeting and thanked the staff for fruitful work, as well as partners for the constant support. He also noted the large number of events during the last year and the high level of their organization due to the well-coordinated teamwork.

Irina Gryadovkina, head of the Scientific-Research Bibliography Department, Radmila Bukach, head of the Social and Cultural center, Maria Chopina, chief librarian of the Museum Activity Sector of the Bibliology Research Department, Elena Polityko, head of the Information and Analytic department, and Irina Dumanskaya, chairman of the trade union committee, made reports.

Natalia Zaderkovskaya, deputy head of the main department of culture and analytical work, head of the culture department of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, and Tatiana Filimonova, chairman of the Republican Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism Workers, also addressed the audience.

One of the most significant events of the last year was the accomplishment of the project on the facsimile reproduction of the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna. The unique multivolume facsimile release became a resonant event for the world community, and this project of the library's staff was marked by the highest award, the prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus For Spiritual Revival.

Within the framework of the event, a solemn ceremony of awarding the National Library employees by the Republican Organizing Committee with diplomas for the organization and holding of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing was held and by the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Belarus with diplomas for fruitful scientific work, significant contribution to the development and popularization of the national culture.

Some employees were awarded with Certificates of Honour and received commendations on behalf of the National Library of Belarus: the accomplishment of the project on the facsimile reproduction of the Book Heritage of Francysk Skaryna; for the successful accomplishment of the development project of a new portal solutions; for many years of fruitful work and successful leadership; for participation in the charity action "The book is the source of wisdom, knowledge and science ...".
It would be impossible to implement such a large-scale and ambitious project without the support and participation of reliable partners.

During the solemn meeting Roman Motulsky awarded partners and co-organizers for support and fruitful cooperation within the frameworks of the celebration of the 500th anniversary of Belarusian printing. Certificates of Honour were awarded by National Library of Belarus to: Pavel Kallaur, chairman of the board of the National Bank of the Republic of Belarus; Nikolay Luzgin, head of the BelVEB Bank, chairman of the board; Sergey Zelenko, deputy chairman of the board; Vasily Kornev, director of the department of corporate management and Dmitry Vaneev, director of the department of administration; Konstantin Vaschenko , head of the design studio "Collection" and Dmitry Makas, its commercial director; Anatoly Gusarov, general director of the National airline "Belavia"; Alexander Shvets, chairman of the Belarusian Scientific and Industrial Association; Georgy Golenchenko, chief researcher of the Institute of History of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; employees of the Center for Studies of Belarusian Culture, Language and Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus: Alexander Lukasanyets, first deputy director for research, Alexander Bresgunov,  leading research fellow, as well as Eugene Nemirovsky, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences.

Not only the results of the 2017 year became the main subject of the meeting. It was also about the tasks for the current year. The National Library of Belarus is preparing a new gift for the Belarusians. Thus, in the year of the celebration of the 400th anniversary of the first “Bukvar”, an international project on the facsimile reproduction of the first Bukvar in the world, published in 1617, is launched. It has to be noted that this Bukvar has Belarusian origins, but the original book is stored in the UK.

The 2018 year is the time of new non-trivial tasks and the conquest of new peaks. On the way to them we wish you, dear colleagues, good health, inspiration and success in all your endeavors!

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
