The National Library of Belarus and the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus have opened the new season of interactiove lectures “Belarusian Music in the World Art Space”.

Musicologists of the National Academy of Sciences will introduce you to the history of Belarusian music of the 19th - early 20th centuries, revealing little-known facts about the work of Stanislav Monyushko, Florian Miladovsky, Michal Kleofas Oginsky and other outstanding composers.

Ethnomusicologists will talk about the calendar, rites and traditions of Belarusians and share unique archival and expeditionary audio and video materials.

The concerts-lectures are held with the participation of the Cantus Alba Rutheniae chapel under the direction of GalinaTsmyg. You will be able to not only listen to the music but also perform some samples.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
