The virtual reading room of the National Library of Belarus continues to present the world's leading information resources. On May 28 a “ProQuest electronic resources in the information landscape of modern libraries and universities” seminar was held in the library.
There were presented informational resources of one of the world's largest scientific electronic information aggregators: electronic books, dissertations and digitized archives on the ProQuest electronic platform.
In the “ProQuest Dissertations & Theses Global” database, Belarusian scientists can not only find information on modern achievements in science, but also present the results of their own research for the international scientific community.
The algorithms of using information resources and promoting the results of their own research for the participants of the seminar were disclosed by Anna Trifonova, Head of ProQuest regional projects, and Alexander Lipensky, Director of the electronic resources department of the METEC subscription agency.
The Information Service Department employees made positive feedback about the content and search capabilities of ProQuest databases.
Access to collections of theses and e-books on the ProQuest platform is open for users of the National Library of Belarus.
We invite to cooperate institutions of higher and secondary education, public and special libraries, information centers of the country.
