On September 21, at the Educational Hall of the National Library of Belarus took place the presentation of of the video program of Raphael Zarka and Vladimir Leon dedicated to the interconnections between architecture, monuments and sculpture.


The video film by Raphael Zarka Rhombus Sectus about the building of the National Library of Belarus was shown within the framework of the presentation.

One year ago, a French film screw headed by young French artist Raphael Zarka visited Minsk with the purpose of shooting a video art film about the National Library of Belarus. This year Raphael Zarka has returned to Minsk in order to show the film to the Belarusian audience. Along with the film Rhombus Sectus guests of the event saw a series of film fragments that explains the opinion of sculptor Raphael Zarka on the “moving image”. French director and producer Vladimir Leon who is actually working on the film about Raphael Zarka also took part in the event.

At the presentation the French guests told about the film shooting and their creative ideas and shared their impressions on Belarus.

Deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for PR and research Lyudmila Kiriukhina, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France in the Republic of Belarus Michel Raineri, Counselor for Cooperation and Culture of the Embassy of France in Belarus Ludovic Royer, and architect and designer of the Library’s building Victor Kramarenko participated in the event.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
