On September 23 at 5 p.m. at the gallery Rakurs takes place the opening of a photo exhibition “Meeting Shanghai we embrace the whole world” dedicated to Shanghai and the Universal Exhibition Expo 2010.
Shanghai reflects the complex history of modern urban culture. The union of historical memory and the present have formed here a rich and vivid culture of the modern Chinese city.
The Universal Exhibition Expo 2010 in Shanghai is symbolic in many respects. As a developing, progressive state, China experiences a quick development of urban culture. In this connection the developing Shanghai is the all-China leader and a good example to follow.
The Universal Exhibition in Shanghai whose burden is the motto “better city – better life” shows the achievements of different countries in the filed of urban culture and gives an opportunity for experience exchange in the filed of urban development.
The photo exhibition at the National Library of Belarus presents more than 60 photos of the modern Shanghai and the Universal Exhibition Expo 2010. Works by famous Chinese photographers acquaint visitors with the urban life in China, presenting the modern world and projecting the future.
The photo exhibition is timed to the Days of Belarus in China (October 13-17), the National Day of the Belarusian Pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai (October 11) and the National Day of the People’s Republic of China (October 1).
