The presentation of the state awards of the Republic of Belarus to the honored people of the country took place on October 20 at the Round Hall of the National Library of Belarus.
Representatives of different branches of industry, construction engineering, experts in education, culture, public health, sports, state statistics, tax and customs systems received awards for their long-term creative activity, high professionalism and exemplary performance of official duties.
Among recipients of the awards are: representatives of the faculty of Belarusian universities, employees of State Industrial Association «Beltopgaz», heads of the major Belarusian enterprises, workers of the concern «Belbiofarm», representatives of national television channels, Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, the National Orchestra of Symphonic and Variety Music, sportsmen, members of national sport teams-participants of the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver and the World Championship – 2009 in Dortmund and others
Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Sergey Sidorsky presented the awards on behalf of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
