On 13 May, the presentation of the album “Prepare the Road for the Lord” dedicated to the visit of Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Tarcisio Bertone to Belarus in June, 2008, took place at the art gallery “Labyrinth” of the National Library of Belarus.
The event was prepared and held by the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Belarus, the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the National Library of Belarus.
The deluxe edition with high-quality photographs and commentaries in the Belarusian and the Italian languages is to become the symbol of the constructive cooperation and the strengthening of relations between Vatican, the Order of Malta and the Republic of Belarus.
The album was edited with the assistance of the publishing house “Pro Christo” and the website of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference in Belarus.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Belarus Paul Friedrich Freiherr von Fuhrherr opened the event. President of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications Archbishop Claudio Maria Celli on a visit to Belarus welcomed the guests. Metropolitan of Minsk and Mogilev, Archbishop Tadeush Kondrusyevich; Second Secretary of the Embassy of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta to the Republic of Belarus, Priest Jan Koshar; Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus for Research Work and Publishing Activity Lyudmila Kiryukhina; representatives of the diplomatic corps, Belarusian state structures and clergy took part in the event.
Within the framework of the solemn ceremony, Ambassador Friedrich Freiherr von Fuhrherr presented to the National Library of Belarus a copy of the album with editors’ autographs.
