On October, 30th, at 3 p.m., a presentation of scientific papers and a new monograph Reward Systems of the World of Doctor of History and Professor Sergey Karpov will be held at the Educational hall (auditorium 346).
Dean of the historical faculty of the Moscow State University named after М.V. Lomonosov and full member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergey Karpov is an outstanding Russian historian-medievist and byzantinist. He is the author of more than 460 scientific papers many of which are translated into English, French, German, Italian, Chinese, Turkish and other languages. The area of the scientist’s interests embraces the medieval history of Italy, the Black Sea Coast and Byzantium, medieval archaeography and diplomacy, and the economic history of Mediterranean of the 13th–15th centuries.
Sergey Karpov is a member of academies of sciences of Genoa, Alessandria (Italy) and the scientific community of Leibniz (Germany, Berlin), a corresponding member of the Venetian deputation of national history (Italy). He is the winner of the State Prize (1996) and the Lomonosov Prize of I degree (1992). In 2009 he was awarded a golden medal named after S.M. Soloviev.
The presentation is arranged by the historical faculty of the Belarusian State University (BSU) in cooperation with the National Library of Belarus, within the bounds of the celebration of 80 years of the BSU historical faculty foundation.
