For the second year in a row, the staff of the Research Department of Bibliography, at the invitation of colleagues from the National Library of Karelia, remotely participate in the annual "Local History Readings".

Since the year 2024 in the Republic of Karelia, as well as in our country, is marked by preparations for the celebration of the 80th anniversary of liberation from the Nazi invaders, one of the sections was called "Memory of the Great Patriotic War".
Lyudmila Gorbacheva, the leading librarian of the Research Department of Bibliography of the National Library of Belarus, made a report on the section "The names of heroes are immortal. The feat of the people in the resources and projects of libraries, archives and museums." The emphasis was placed on online resources created by leading memory institutions in recent years and dedicated to the heroic struggle of the Belarusian people against the Nazi invaders, the partisan movement and mass underground activities that have no analogues in world history. The relevance and timeliness of the creation of patriotic resources for the preservation of historical memory is emphasized.
The conference is organized by the National Library of the Republic of Karelia, the Institute of Language, Literature and History of the Karelian Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
