On 27 October, at 5 p.m., the opening of the cultural-educational project "Belarus and the United Nations: history and the present" will be held in the Mobile gallery of the National Library of Belarus.
The project is organized by the UN Office in the Republic of Belarus in cooperation with the National Library of Belarus to the United Nations Day (24 October) and consists of photo-and book exhibitions "The United Nations for peace and well-being of all the peoples".
The documents displayed at the book exhibition tell about a multi-faceted work of the UN in the world, but a separate section is dedicated to different aspects of cooperation between Belarus and this international organization. The exhibition contains over 100 documents from the collections of the National Library of Belarus in Russian and English: books, periodicals, mimeographed materials of the UN, brochures and booklets.
The photo exhibition consists of two thematic sections. The first one is about to the history of the UN and how Belarus has participated in its creation. The second one reflects the activities of the UN organizations on the Millennium Development Goals.
