The National Library hosted a creative evening "Wind of the destiny" by the Belarusian writer, Honored Worker of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, Naum Galperovich on the occasion of his 75th birthday, on 17 January.
The eminent poet, publicist, TV host, and radio journalist is the author of more than ten books of poetry and prose, and prominent Belarusian composers E. Zaritski, V. Budnik, A. Eliseenkov, and V. Ivanov have set his poems to music. He interacts with well-known public and cultural leaders in Belarus and discusses current issues pertaining to the culture and history of the nation in his original television programmes.
Colleagues, friends, and visitors gathered to thank Naum Jakovlevich for his writing, recognise his contribution to the growth of Belarusian culture, and wish him a happy anniversary. Deputy General Director of the National Library of Belarus Viktor Pshybytka; actor and director of the National TV and Radio Company, director of radio performances Oleg Viniarski; editor of the program "Surazmowtsy" on the TV channel "Belarus 3", head of the national literary theater "Zhivoe Slovo" Ales Mojski, well-known Belarusian TV and radio hosts, fans of Naum Galperovich's work addressed the audience with warm words.
Naum Jakovlevich shared his memories of key events in his life during the creative evening, discussed the evolution of art, and fielded many questions from the audience. Songs based on the poet's words were played during the ceremony. The remarks of Ales Mojski and Oleg Viniarski, who recited the poems of the day's hero, created a warm atmosphere at the meeting.
The occasion included a publication display and book viewing from the National Library of Belarus collection, illuminating the author's varied creative trajectory.
