On March 21, 2024, the National Library of Belarus and the the Belarusian Republican Collegium of Advocates organized and held a monthly meeting with a lawyer on issues of "Land disputes and their resolution" as part of joint events on information and legal education of citizens.

Galina Melnichenok, a lawyer and member of the Minsk City Collegium of Advocates , gave a lecture.


At the meeting, detailed information was provided on the normative acts of the Republic of Belarus regulating land relations; topical issues related to the rights of land users, typical violations in establishing and changing the boundaries of a land plot and the consequences of their violation were highlighted. The audience was particularly interested in the examples presented by a lawyer from law enforcement practice, about the causes of disputes between neighbours, the specifics of the dispute resolution procedure, as well as hereditary rights to land.

The event will feature a thematic exhibition of literature from the collections of the National Library of Belarus, presented in the Legal Information reading room (room 207b).

From May 6 to July 5, the Reference and Information Service reading room (room 257) hosts the book exhibition "Belarus Unconquered", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders.
