On 30 January, a literary and creative event "Great talent, great work, great heart" was held in the gallery Labyrinth.

The event was held as part of the opening of a book-illustrative exhibition dedicated to the winners of the award "For Spiritual Revival" and of the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus in the field of culture and art in 2013.

To emphasize the social significance of the event and congratulate all those who contribute to the noble aim of strengthening spiritual values, moral traditions and ideas of philanthropy and charity, the National Library of Belarus annually organizes a book-illustrative exhibition and conducts literary and creative event "Great talent, great work, great heart" with the laureates of this Prize.

Opening the event, Deputy Director of the National Library of Belarus Tatiana Kuzminich noted that the awards "For Spiritual Revival" and the Special Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus were our national Olympus". "We understand that each one of us goes to this "Olympus" for many years focusing on a particular sphere of activity. The National Library of Belarus hospitably opens its doors for you and always invites. I wish you success in your work!", said she to the winners.

At the event, Director of the Belarusian Children’s Fund Alexander Trukhan, chief of juvenile inspection of public security police of internal affairs department of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee Olga Chemodanova, representatives of the group of authors of children’s TV music competition "I sing!" Elena Lobach and Angela Mikulskaya, authors of the television news agency National Broadcasting Company (Mikhail Revutsky, Elena Bormotova, Maria Zhukova), a folk vocal ensemble Pamyats serdtsa (Memory of the Heart) of war and labor veterans and veterans of the Armed Forces from the Republican Veterans’ Palace of Culture (Director – Galina Matyas) told about their way to the "Olympus".

"When you work, you do not expect rewards for doing it. But when you get it, you feel a great joy, of course. I love children. For this reason I have chosen my profession, – said chief physician of the Republican Children’s Hospital for Medical Rehabilitation Galina Rodionova, who was also one of those for whom this event was organized. – In my work it is necessary to have basic human qualities: kindness, love and mercy, and no one can appreciate them so high as children."

This year’s winners passed many heavy roads to climb on a pedestal: one helped teenagers to avoid a wrong way of life, the other helped many children to touch the dream, the third made them believe in themselves, the fourth dismantled in detail their story as a puzzle and folded in a new form, and someone through many years had retained the youthful enthusiasm and sang with all of his heart for young people now songs of the Soviet soldiers who had fought against the fascists.

The exhibition dedicated to the winners will be located in the circular corridor of the 2nd floor from 4 February to 3 March.
