The presentation of a series of publications Гісторыя і культура падляшскіх беларусаў takes place on April 5 in the Library.
The National Library of Belarus, St. Peter and Paul's Cathedral in Minsk, the Brotherhood in honor of the Vilnian martyrs Anthony, John and Eustathius in Minsk organize the event.
In the framework of the series Гісторыя і культура падляшскіх беларусаў, there were published seven books dedicated to different aspects of Belarusian culture in Podlasie, Belarusian-Polish frontier, and significant personalities and important historical events (Бежанства. Дарогі і павароты. 1915−1922, Бельскі Сойм Велікі року Божого 1564). The latest book from this cycle Айцец Канстанцін Байко. Духаўнік. Настаўнік. Лекар was published in January, 2017.
Every volume is based on a rich archive, recollections of local residents anв is wonderfully illustrated. The editions are in Belarusian and Polish, and a written form of the local dialect of Podlasia.
The author of these books Dorofey Fionik is a Polish historian, ethnographer of Belarusian origin, publisher, founder of the Museum of Small Fatherland in Studziwody (Bielsk Podlaski, Poland). During the last 2 decades he has promoted an active Belarusian-Polish cultural cooperation, including festivals Там по майской росе, Олень по бору ходит, Дни славянской письменности.
