On March 25th, the opening of Marina Kapilova’s personal exhibition of lithographs and decorative sculpture was held at the gallery “Atrium”.


The exposition arranged by the National Library of Belarus and the graphics gallery “Knizhny salon” presents thirty lithographs and thirty decorative ornaments made of metal. The artist noted that the exhibition would not take place without the help of her colleague Dmitry Molotkov. “Everything you can see here today is made by us”, Marina Kapilova said.

Chairman of the Union of Artists of Belarus Grigory Sitnitsa did not approved the modesty of the professional having named her “a heaven-born artist”. “Today many people call themselves artists, but it quite difficult to find the true one. People like Marina make our life holiday and beautiful! ” he said.

Last years lithograph and sculpture are the priority directions in Marina Kapilova’s creativity. Each of genres in which the artist works is presented by a powerful set of works of art. The range of her creative interests reaches from the antique mythology to design stylizations.

Marina Kapilova graduated from the faculty of industrial design of the Belarusian State Theatrical and Art Institute (now the Belarusian State Academy of Arts) in 1980. Decorative ornaments made of metal with the use of other various materials are the true admiration. Marina Kapilova achieved much success in the genre of lithograph owning to her long-term cooperation with known master-printer Dmitry Molotkov. Together the artists created more than 100 lithographs: thematic cycles of lithographs dedicated to antique mythology, works inspired by the Bible and series of romantic fantasies.

Graphics by Marina Kapilova were first presented in summer 2014 at the Second international triennale of graphic art in Saint-Petersburg.

The exhibition of Marina Kopilova runs till the end of April.
