The National Library of Belarus and Mobilnyie TeleSistemy Company have prepared a collection of electronic copies of newspapers, magazines, posters and leaflets published during the Great Patriotic War 1941–1945. The exhibition is timed to the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders.
The digital collection is based on documents kept in the stocks of the National Library of Belarus. These are original editions of the wartime representing the historical property of our people. These editions, which are notable for a high level of patriotism, served in due time as powerful means to call upon the people to protect the Fatherland from fascist aggressors. These newspapers, appeals, posters and leaflets told about heroic struggle of the Soviet army, military operations and news from front, glorified feats of soldiers and workers of rear, exposed and derided Nazi propagation, and cultivated the hatred to invaders.
Electronic copies of newspapers, magazines, leaflets and posters of the wartime are for us the chronicle of our people’s feat giving an opportunity to feel an atmosphere of the heroic struggle and better comprehend the events of the Great Patriotic War.
