On October 10th, in Orsha, there took place a ceremonial donation of the facsimile reprint of Francysk Skaryna’s book heritage to Orsha Regional Museum of History and Culture.
The ceremony was part of the festival “The Orthodox Belarus” and the international science and practical conference “Kuteino Lectures – 2014”.
Deputy director of the National Library of Belarus for research work and publishing activity Alies Susha said at the donation ceremony that the book heritage of our ancestors, still in the service of the Belarusian people's education, was our special honor and pride.
In 2014, the National Library of Belarus in cooperation with BelVEB Bank, has carried out the first part of the national project on facsimile edition of complete works by Francysk Skaryna: the first five volumes are published.
The publishing project for 2013–2017 is timed to the 500th anniversary of Belarusian book-printing.
