On 26 April, at 2 p.m., a cultural-educational action “A Step to the Future” timed to World Book and Copyright Day will be held at the atrium (2nd floor).


The organizers of the event are the National Library of Belarus, the National Center of Intellectual Property and the Belarusian Council of libraries for Information Interaction.

As part of the event there will be chosen the best library of our country in realization of copyright protection activity. There also will be awarded winners in the student contest on intellectual property.

Visitors will also see a book exhibition “The youth of Belarus – an intellectual potential of the country”. It will display modern books and periodicals that include research articles of young scientists on issues of intellectual property and copyright.

The event will be attended by representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, UNESCO, the National center of legislation and jural research, heads of libraries and other cultural and educational institutions of the country.

A vocal group “Chisty golos” (The Pure Voice) will participate in the action. There will be performed songs from a new musical collection by composer Oleg Molchan written on words of eminent Belarusian classic Yanka Kupala.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
