On May 21, 2007, in National Library of Belarus took place a meeting of the Council for cultural cooperation of member states of the CIS.
The main objectives of the meeting are: all possible assistance to the development of intellectual potential and safekeeping of national material and spiritual heritage in the interests of national development and social and economic progress of member states of the CIS.
During the meeting were discussed the following issues: foundation of the Association of music colleges in member states of the CIS, scientific and methodological cooperation of member states of the CIS in the field of artistic education, information on legal regulation and modernization in the field of culture, and other urgent issues. In the meeting participated members of the Council for cultural cooperation of member states of the CIS, ambassadors of member states of the CIS, representatives of diplomatic corps and the Executive committee of the CIS. At the end of the event took place a press conference.
