On September 15, the “Book Treasury” of Belarus celebrates its professional holiday, the Day of Libraries.
This Day, established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Belarus in 2001, shows the state’s attention to public libraries as the most important element of the information space.
This year the National Library of Belarus celebrates the 95th anniversary of its founding. A rich history, change, progress and effort of a large number of professionals and devoted people stand behind this date. And it is very significant that the library’s jubilee coincides with another holiday – the 500th anniversary of the Belarusian book-printing.
On the occasion of the grand anniversary, the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko addressed congratulations to the National Library staff and wished them success and fruit in their responsible and noble mission, good health, happiness and prosperity.
The National Library also received congratulations from Belarusian ministries and departments.
