On January, 10th, 2015, a Christmas-tide celebration took place at the National Library of Belarus.


Characters from Belarusian people’s fairytales congratulated staff of the National Library. Actors prepared for librarians a number of entertaining competitions and jokes which created an atmosphere of the true Slavic holiday.

At end of the event, according to the old national tradition, spectators were showered with grain so that in the new year everyone would be rich and flourishing.

We present the updated virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region": on the 205th anniversary of the composer's birth

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

Dreams about Belarus at the National Library

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.

Art exhibitions
