The republican exhibition Art-Krok opening ceremony takes place at the gallery Rakurs on November 23 at 5 p.m.


The exhibition organizers are the National Library of Belarus and the International Guild of Painters. The exhibition is part of the project of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus “The Land under white wings” which started on September 3 at the National Art Museum of Belarus and will run up to December 15. The major task of the project is to define the state policy in the sphere of fine arts.

Almost 50 Belarusian artists participate in the new Are-Krok. There are both famous and well-known artists – Vassili Kostyuchenko, Sergei Malishevsky, Dmitri Surinovich, Aless Zabavchik, Vladimir Ksendzov, Fyodor Yastreb, Vladimir Rynkevich, and those who have just begun their artistic career.

The artists’ works will be displayed in three art galleries of the National Library of Belarus (Labyrinth, Atrium and Rakurs).

The exhibition runs up to January 15, 2011.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

On April 25, the National Library of Belarus hosted the opening of the exhibition "Dreams about Belarus", dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Liberation of Belarus from Nazi invaders and the 85th anniversary of the birth of People's Artist of Belarus Vasily Sharangovich.
