On June 11, 2007, the 14th International Conference "Crimea-2007" "Libraries and information resources in the modern world of science, culture, education, and business" was opened.
At the opening ceremony representatives of the countries participants of the Conference read greetings from their governments. V.M. Chernik, the head of the Administration of Cultural and Folk Art Institutions at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, read the welcoming speech by S.S. Sidorsky, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
On the same day the Conference began. Representatives of the Belarusian delegation participated in sittings of the Conference sections. R. Motulsky, the Director of the National Library of Belarus read the report ’’Conceptual, organizing, and legal grounds of construction of the new building of the National Library of Belarus" at the section ’World informational infrastructure, national information resources and national libraries, projects of international cooperation".
V.M. Chernik and N.S. Chujeva, the chairman of the Belarusian Library Association, took part in the round table "Modern library policy: experience of various countries". On June 9, 2007, the contest of photography "My Library" was open with 9 works performed by the NLB’s specialists: V.V.Pshybytko, the head of the Internet Portal Support Department, A.N. Zhernosiek, the head of the Multimedia Projects Section, and A.M. Shinkarenko, the photographer of the Library.
On June 12, 2007, within the framework of the Conference the Days of Libraries of Russia and Ukraine took place. V.M. Chernik greeted the participants on behalf of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus.
On June 13, 2007, within the framework of the Conference the Day of Libraries of Belarus takes place, and this is the most strained day for the Belarusian delegation. We wish good luck to our colleagues!
