On May 14-15, 2008, in V.I. Lenin Mogilev Regional Library was held a seminar “State and prospects of libraries in Mogilev region”.


The seminar was organized by The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, National Library of Belarus, Cultural administration of Mogilev regional executive committee and V.I. Lenin Mogilev Regional Library. 

At the seminar the Treaty on the opening of National Library of Belarus virtual reading room in V.I. Lenin Mogilev Regional Universal Library was signed. According to the Treaty users of Mogilev Regional Library get access to information resources of National Library of Belarus.

Participants of the seminar visited Shklov Central Regional Library, Alexandria, Komsenichi, and Lankovo rural libraries.   The visitors got acquainted with the libraries experience and consulted their colleagues on resources developing, user service, and the use of modern information technologies.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.

A new project of the National Library of Belarus is dedicated to the Great Patriotic War – "Reading newspaper lines with your heart. On the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the Nazi invaders."
Every week from January to August 2024, the portal of the National Library publishes materials from newspapers of Soviet Belarus in 1944, reflecting the chronicle of news and events of that time.
