On December 1st–31st, a book exhibition timed to the 100th birth anniversary of Belarusian writer, poet and translator Grigory Nekhay (1914–1991) runs in the Belarusian literature reading room (auditorium 205).
The exhibition is dedicated to Grigory Nekhay, the tireless searcher of kind and courageous hearts who glorified with clear and sincere words the beauty of the land and heroic feats and peaceful labor of the people. He had carried through the years his love of the native land, the inflorescence of wildflowers in the fields, the murmur of groves and forests. A former front-line soldier, he knew the price of life and called for friendship between nations.
The exposition presents collections of the author’s books of prose and poetry, children’s books and translations of foreign writers into the Belarusian language.
Thematic exhibition sections include books by Grigory Nekhay translated into Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Armenian and Bulgarian languages, and also editions and articles about his life and creative career.
Over 100 documents are on display.
