The thematic exhibition “Cities of Belarus: Past, Present, Future” is on show from May 4 to June 30 in the Periodicals Reading Room (room 106).

A city and history, cultural heritage and modernity... Every corner of Belarus is interesting in its own way. This exhibition is dedicated to the sights of big and small cities of our country.

There are many cities in the Republic of Belarus whose age reaches more than 500 years. There are informative articles based on historical facts and archival documents about Brest, Minsk, Vitebsk, Turov, Grodno, Pinsk, Zhlobin, Zaslavl, Volkovysk, published in the periodicals “Belarusian Thought”, “Archives and Record-Keeping”, “Geography”, “Belarusian Historical Journal”, “Grodno Truth”, “Local History Newspaper”, “Belarusian Time”.

There are cities that can rightfully be called young, but already firmly “standing on their feet.” The modern life of Novopolotsk, Salihorsk, Zhodino is devoted to the materials of the newspaper "Minsk Truth", the magazines "Belarus", "Library World", and "Library Offers". The newspaper "Republic" spoke on its pages about the present and future of Narovli and Khoinikov, the most affected by the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

When we talk about the image of Belarus, we always remember our small towns. Significant historical events and sights of Mozyr, Rogachev, Slutsk, Bykhov, Bereza, Schuchin can be found in the newspaper “SB. Belarus today”.

In total, the exhibition features more than 40 periodicals.

The opening hours of the exhibition correspond to the library’s opening hours.
Admission is by library card or by the ticket of the library's social and cultural center.
