From June 01, 2007, to July 05, 2007, in the Visual Materials Reading Room (room 307) is open an exhibition "Children in Visual Arts", dedicated to the Year of Mother and Child.


The canvases by several artists dedicated to children open to us an amazing world of warm and inmost feelings. Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael, D. Velasquez, O. Renoir, A. Venetsianov, I. Repine, V. Serov, A.Dejneka, Z. Serebrjakova and other artists had appealed to this theme in the moments of a creative enthusiasm.The exhibition includes more than 100 materials. There are books, albums, postcards, reproductions, and prints representing works by artists of various epochs from the Antiquity to today. The exhibition sections reveal the following subjects: ’Motherhood’, ’Children in the Antique art’, ’Saint children’, ’Children on the throne’, ’Noble family’, ’Peasant childhood’, ’Serene childhood’, ’Soviet country childhood’, and ’Children today’.We invite to the exhibition all who are interested in the works by the artists who created the world gallery of children’s images.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
