On the eve of the Independence Day of Belarus (3 July), the National Library offers the thematic book exhibition “Belarus Today”.


About 200 latest editions are on display. The exposition includes publications about the formation of the State system of Belarus, its social, economic, scientific and cultural achievements, foreign policy and external economic relations. The exhibition reflects the best traditions of the Belarusian people and the unique natural resources of the country.

The thematic section "The country of Belarus" includes editions on the history of Belarus, social and political literature about the current state of the country and the ways of its further development.

The section "The lovely images of my native land" is dedicated to Belarusian forest reserves, the beauty and diversity of Belarusian nature and environment protection. The section includes publications about national parks and forest reserves.

A part of the exposition reflects the modern portrait of Belarusian culture and arts. Books about the country’s cultural and historical heritage, architectural monuments and sights; encyclopedias, photo albums and booklets that demonstrate the attractive image of the country are on display.

Readers and visitors have an opportunity to see the latest books published in Belarus in last three years.

The exposition is located on the second floor in the circular corridor and runs till September, 2016.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
