The exhibition of paintings "Moments saved" was opened on February 28 in the gallery "Rakurs" (2nd floor).


Visitors of the Library celebrated the anniversary of the birth of Ukrainian poet and artist Taras Shevchenko and the 25th anniversary of the Friendship Society "Belarus – Ukraine" with the opening of the exhibition of Belarusian artist Alexander Akutsionok and his teacher who was born in the land of Taras Shevchenko Fedor Svistilnik.

The first deputy director of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova opened the exhibition. The Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Republic of Belarus Valery Dzhigun, the Chairman of the Minsk public association of Ukrainians "Заповіт", the Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine Galina Kolyuzhnaya, a member of the Belarusian Union of Artists, the main artist of the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theater Andrei Merenkov greeted the guests.

During the event, there was an acquaintance with the authors who have preserved and presented to the visitors their moments – artists Fedor Svistilnik and Alexander Akutsionok.

The opening of the exhibition was accompanied by a performance of the choir "Inspiration" of the Belarusian State Pedagogical University named after Maxim Tank led by Larisa Yadlovskaya.

On May 5, the 205th anniversary of the birth of Stanislaw Moniuszko (1819–1872), the world-famous composer and conductor, our countryman, who made a significant contribution to the formation of Belarusian musical culture, is celebrated. By this date, the National Library of Belarus has updated the already existing virtual project "Stanislaw Moniuszko. Musical romantic from Minsk region", created five years ago, and now replenished with new unique materials.
