The jubilee exhibition "Poetry weighted by heart", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the poet, screenwriter, translator, Honoured Worker of Culture of Belarus Anatol Stiapanavich Vialiugin (1923–1994), takes place from December 5 to January 4 in the Hall of Belarusian Literature (room 205).
Anatol Vialiugin is an outstanding poet, a true master of words, a famous translator who occupies a special place in Belarusian literature. His poetry has been widely recognized in our country and far beyond its borders. Unbridledness and riskiness, selfless recklessness and uncompromising, great sincerity and warmth of the heart – this is not a complete list of the main and defining features characteristic of an original poet. A distinctive feature of his poetry is that it naturally combines figurative and lyrical expressive principles. Placed by Anatol Vialiugin accents turn into a powerful means of forming highly civil, patriotic qualities of the reader's personality, his understanding of his involvement with the destinies of the people, the destinies of the Motherland.
The section of the exhibition "Happy fate gift" exhibits book and magazine publications of Anatol Vialiugin's works, books edited by him and compiled by him, works for children, sheet music. The poet devoted a lot of time to his work in cinematography. More than 40 documentaries have been shot at the Belarusfilm film studio based on his scripts, 16 of them are full-length: "Eagle Spring" (1966), "General Pushcha" (1967; State Prize of Belarus, 1968), "Fire" (1969), "A cuckoo cuckoo" (1972), etc.
The translation activity of the hero of the day is devoted to the section "Going to the person". The poet translated into Belarusian the works of M. Lermontov, A. Mitskewich, V. Mayakovsky, P. Neruda, V. Bronevsky, V. Sosiura, A. Malyshka, L. Ukrainka and others. Many of his works have been translated into Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian and other languages.
The last section "Poet of the highest rank" contains materials about the poet's work, encyclopedic and reference publications with biographical information. P. Prikhodka, A. Loika, A. Rusetsky, K. Kameisha, G. Pashkoy, V. Zujonak, M. Arachka and others wrote about him.
