The jubilee exhibition "Divine Maria Callas", dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the opera singer (1923–1977), takes place from November 22 to January 16 in the hall of musical and audiovisual documents (room 305).
Maria Callas is one of the most influential opera singers of the twentieth century. Her voice was so extraordinary that it was called divine. The artist could easily move from the lower pianissimo to the powerful forte, convey the deepest feelings, history and emotions of the characters she played on stage.
The exhibition dedicated to her work will be of interest to both fans of opera music and people interested in the success story of outstanding personalities. The materials presented at the exhibition will help to learn more about the formation of the opera diva's career, how she reached the peak of her success, and then gradually left stage life in order to subsequently restore her fame and become a cult figure of the theatre scene.
Numerous books and articles, photographs of different periods of the singer's life, a collection of vinyl records with recordings of her famous performances – all this will allow readers to plunge into the fascinating world of art and the personal world of the amazing artist.
