The jubilee exhibition "In the Mirror of Fate", dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the birth of the Belarusian writer, Honored Worker of Culture of Belarus Pilip Pestrak (1903-1978), takes place from November 1 to November 30 in the hall of Belarusian literature (room 205).
The work of Pilip Pestrak occupies a prominent place in the Belarusian Soviet literature. Fidelity to the truth of life is the most important feature of Philip Semenovich's entire work. The patriot writer, whose creative activity is organically connected with the fate of Western Belarus, the singer of the struggle, a great humanist, Pilip Pestrak is the most colourful figure in post-war Belarusian literature.
The first section of the exhibition "From the depths of the experienced" presents the collected works of the writer in 4 and 5 volumes, collections of short stories ("The First Rises", "Forest Song", "Among the Reeds") and poems "On guard", "For my Motherland", "Traveling" and others., etc.), memoirs, literary-critical and journalistic articles, essays. The theme of the struggle of the masses of Western Belarus for their social and national liberation found its deepest embodiment in P. Pestrak's novel "Let's settle down on the barricades", which has undergone several reprints and has been translated into Russian. In 1963, the novel "Seradzibor" was published, dedicated to the problems of life in the post-war collective farm village, for which the writer received the Literary Prize named after him. The second section of the exhibition "Faith in the Word" is dedicated to the translation activities of P. Pestrak. He translated works of Russian, Ukrainian, Polish, Latvian, Lithuanian writers into Belarusian. These translations and translations of his works into foreign languages are on display at the exhibition.
The exposition is complemented by the section "Light of the Soul", which presents publications from encyclopedic publications, books and articles about the life and work of P. Pestrak. M. Streltsov, K. Khromchenko, N. Grinchik, S. Kukharev, V. Yurevich and others wrote about him.
