The Library’s Excursion and Methodological Work Department presents a new tour from the “Outstanding People of the Motherland” cycle based on the oeuvre of a war veteran and writer Vasil Bykau as part of the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory celebration.

A fascinating tour introduces you to the most interesting details of the life and work of the famous Belarusian writer. You can find out about his family, studies, growth, worldview, the war years, the beginning of the career, literary works, films based on them and other facts of Vasil Bykov’s biography from the presentation, which is available for download. A video about the tour provides an opportunity to have a glimpse at its parts.

The cycle of interactive educational excursions “Outstanding People of the Motherland” is dedicated to the national culture figures. It has been prepared taking into account the school curriculum and anniversary dates. Each tour is prepared on the basis of information resources and funds of the National Library. Guided tours are held in the form of interactive classes with presentations, creative assignments, quizzes, etc.

Presentations about other cultural figures of Belarus are also available for downloading: F. Skaryna, Ya. Kolas, Ya. Kupala, M. Bogdanovich, Ya. Maur, K. Krapiva, M. Zaretsky, M. Chagall, U. Karatkievich.

The tours are meant for pupils and students, as well as everyone who is interested in the national culture. Lively and interactive tours spark interest in the life of famous Belarusians and in reading their literary works.

A thematic exhibition "The Holocaust: Forever Remembered" dedicated to the International Holocaust Remembrance Day is on show in the Anteroom of the Official Documents Service Department (room 207) from January 12 to February 9.

Diversity of Languages: The Great Achievement of Humanity


From 19 January to 22 February, a thematic exhibition Diversity of Languages: The Great Achievement of Humanity, dedicated to the International Decade of Indigenous Languages (2022–2032) is on display in the International Organizations Documents Reading Room (Room 207g).
