A workshop on “The Regional Integrated Electronic Catalog (RSEC): work technology and features of creating bibliographic records” was held in Mogilev, on October 3.
The event was organized on the basis of Mogilev Regional Library named after V.I. Lenin, in connection with the launching of the Regional Integrated Electronic Catalog in Mogilev region.
The workshop was attended by representatives of libraries which are RSEC participants or plan to join it in 2019: the Centralized System of State Public Libraries in the City of Mogilyov, the Kruglyanskaya Centralized Library System, the Belynichsky Centralized Library Network, the Centralized Library Network in the Bykhovsky District, and Klimovich Library Network.
The employees of the National Library of Belarus: Elena Ishutina, head of the Corporate Cataloging System Support Sector, and Olesya Demidova, chief librarian at the BELMARC Formats Development Sector, presented reports on the technological aspects of creating a regional network electronic catalog, and on the results of quality analysis and processing of bibliographic records for RSEK in Mogilev region.
The attendee considered the issues of bibliographic records creation, technological principles and methods of library work, and also identified areas for the further development of the corporate resource.
