Visiting Books is a fascinating popular science publication for children on the history of book culture. It contains creative tasks that help popularize the national book heritage and increase the cultural potential of the younger generation.

The illustrated book includes popular science texts in the Belarusian language about the main stages, events, personalities, and concepts related to the history of book culture. The possibility to study book culture using active learning techniques contributes to the uniqueness of the publication. The way the material is presented encourages a child to delve into the learning process through intelligent and creative tasks.

The book is published primarily for libraries and museums of the country as the basis for the promotion of book culture among children and youth. It may be highly demanded among teachers as a means to foster students' interest in an in-depth study of Belarusian culture in the European context. 

The electronic version of the publication can be found on the portal of the National Library of Belarus. Chapters of the book can be downloaded in pdf format. They can be used for thematic presentations and interactive classes for children.

The authors hope that children will take an interest in the prepared material, and learn a lot of fun things about books and their history.

Adam Shanyavsky and the library fund of the Nesvizh county school (the last quarter of the XVIII century)

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
