On 21 April, the charitable art project "The world behind the window” opened at the art galley Labyrinth.


The project organizers are the National Library of Belarus and the International Guild of Painters.

The basic concept of the charitable art exhibition is that physical and mental disabilities can’t limit creative self-expression of a person. The exhibition presents about 100 works whose authors have very special and complex fates.

First Deputy Director for User Service and Ideology of the National Library of Belarus Elena Dolgopolova delivered an opening speech. Participants of the opening ceremony of the charitable art exhibition: head of the Education Administration of Minsk Regional Executive Committee Taissia Danilevich, consultant of the Service and Capital Development Administration Anatoly Yurkevich, head of the Social Institutions Administration Victoria Grechikha; chairman of the International Guild of Painters Fyodor Yastreb; head of the art studio “Vasilyok” at Minsk Regional Special Boarding School for Deaf and Hearing-Impaired Children Nadezhda Prokopovich; head of the rehabilitation studio “Palitra” Galina Kucherencko; head of the Paining, Arts and Crafts and Exhibition Activity Department of the National Center of Arts for Children and Youth Tamara Sidorevich; director of psychoneurological boarding school № 2 Galina Mazurkevich and head of the art studio of psychoneurological boarding school № 2 Tatiana Birulya.

The exhibition runs up to 20 May.

On April 24, 2024, at the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Rumyantsev Readings-2024" in Moscow, Olga Polunchenko, chief bibliographer of the Department of reference and Information Services, presented a report "The role of Adam Shanyavsky in organizing the library fund of the Nesvizh County School (the last quarter of the XVIII century)."
