On April 21, within the framework of the International Day of Intellectual Property, the library hosted an educational seminar "Legal aspects of the library's activities in the digital environment."
The event was organized by the National Library of Belarus in cooperation with the National Center for Intellectual Property.
More than 50 representatives of the sphere of culture, science and education took part in the seminar.
Roman Motulsky, Director General of the National Library of Belarus, and Vladimir Ryabovolov, Director General of the National Center for Intellectual Property, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
At the seminar, reports were made by specialists from the National Center for Intellectual Property, as well as from the Belarusian State University.
The head of the department of legislation in the field of copyright and related rights of the department of legal and personnel support of the National Center for Intellectual Property, Ekaterina Yantikova, covered general issues of copyright in the activities of libraries.
Dmitry Kaminsky, specialist of the department of large rights and computer programs of the department of copyright and related rights of the National Center for Intellectual Property, spoke about the use of copyrighted objects by libraries.
Diana Ivanova, Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Law Faculty of the Belarusian State University, introduced the legal aspects of creating electronic libraries and websites of organizations.
The experts answered the questions of the seminar participants that they encounter in the course of their professional activities.
